The classes are designed to suit kids and teens of all ages and abilities. We don't use a one size fits all model as we believe each child is different and so is their learning style.
Throughout the year we have competitions both home and away with other likeminded clubs to help develop your child's confidence, challenge them and instil a sense of pride and achievement in a safe and welcoming environment.
We like to celebrate popular holidays throughout the year with in class parties which are of no extra charge. You will see some photos of these in our gallery.
The first class is free with no sign up obligation. After that, fees are paid on a 6 week term basis. Students can train in one class or both and we offer discounts for family members.
Our club works with charities and schools annually to offer scholarship programmes for those in low income families. For those interested in spaces, eligibility and process, please contact us. Our club is passionate about supporting the community.
Most kids are eager to get a uniform and parents ask how to purchase one after the first class. Michelle recommends that a child tries the classes for about a month before purchasing a Taekwondo uniform. This can be purchased through the club at a discount. Michelle doesn’t believe in rushing into obtaining a uniform, even though she is confident your child will want to join, she does not believe in forcing a parent to purchase the equipment quickly as there is no need. After your child has done a month or so of classes, Michelle will discuss this with you. For the first class your child should wear a tracksuit, bring water and make sure they have any medication they may need with them.
Parents are welcome to leave the class or watch depending on what they prefer. If they choose to stay, they must not distract the student during class. Michelle understands that each child is different, so if your child has special educational needs we can have a chat together about that and make sure your child has the best training experience.
When a student has participated in enough classes and has reached the standard required to be eligible to take a grading examination they will take part in an examination for their next belt. For some children learning certain aspects can be more challenging than others and we dedicate the time to help them reach their goal at no additional cost.
We also have the star award promotions programme which is used for all students from white belt to black belt to help them focus on continuous assessment and development throughout the term. This is unique to our club but is being rolled out throughout the country due to the success of it in our club.
Finally we are a family focused club and care about the goals of each and every student whether it is their next belt, overcoming anxiety and bullying or world championship medal aspirations and we look forward to welcoming your child into the Tiger family.
